Supporting Catholic Life at Home
At St Anne’s RC Primary, we believe that the foundation of a child’s faith is nurtured both in the classroom and at home. We recognise that parents and guardians are the first and most important teachers of the faith, and we are committed to working in partnership with families to help foster a vibrant and living Catholic life within the home.
Prayer & Devotion:
We encourage families to make prayer a central part of their daily routines. Our students are taught the importance of prayer and we invite parents to join us in supporting them by making prayer an integral part of family life. Whether it’s morning prayers, grace before meals, or evening devotions, prayer is a powerful way to invite God’s presence into the home. Prayer booklets are shared with parents and Prayer bags are sent home at different points in the liturgical calendar to support with this.

Family Faith Formation:
We offer resources and programs designed to support families in deepening their faith. From stay & pray, Candles of Hope sessions and Sunday Singing Superstars, our school helps equip parents with tools to continue their children’s spiritual growth at home. Our goal is to create a strong Catholic environment in the home, where faith is actively practiced, discussed, and celebrated.
Sacramental Preparation:
Sacramental milestones, such as First Forgiveness and Communion, are key moments in a child’s faith journey. We work closely with families to prepare students for these sacraments, ensuring that parents are engaged in the process. Parents are invited to attend informational meetings and participate in activities that help them guide their child through these important steps of their Catholic life.
Living Catholic Values:
At St Anne’s, we emphasise the importance of Catholic values such as compassion, kindness, service, and respect. We encourage families to incorporate these values into everyday life—whether through acts of charity, service projects, or simply living with a Christ-like spirit at home. We believe that when these values are practiced both at school and at home, they become a natural expression of the Catholic faith.
Faith-Infused Curriculum:
Our curriculum is underpinned with Catholic teachings, but we also provide families with materials that help connect classroom learning to daily life. From Bible stories to discussions about saints, we invite parents to continue the conversation at home, helping children see how their faith connects to their everyday experiences and decisions.
Parental Involvement:
We invite parents to be actively involved in the spiritual life of the school. Whether it’s attending Mass, volunteering at school events, or participating in parish life, we believe that when parents are engaged, children benefit spiritually and academically. We provide many opportunities for families to participate in the life of the school and the church community.
A Culture of Community & Support:
We are here to support families in every aspect of Catholic life. Our staff is available for guidance, prayer, and counsel, and we encourage open communication between school and home. Together, we form a partnership that helps children live out their Catholic faith both in school and at home.
