Faith Leaders 2024-2025

At St. Anne’s RC Primary School, our students play an active and vital role in the leadership of our school community. Through various leadership teams, such as the Caritas Ambassadors, Laudato Si’ Team, GiFT Team, and Peacemakers, our children are given the opportunity to develop essential skills, take responsibility, and make a positive impact. Each year, students apply for these leadership roles, going through a thorough application and interview process to ensure the right candidates are chosen. This selection process allows our students to actively contribute to important aspects of school life, from promoting social justice and environmental care to leading prayer and supporting their peers, empowering them to live out their faith and values in meaningful ways.

Caritas Ambassadors

As Caritas Ambassadors, our role is to bring social justice to life within our school community. We focus on raising funds and awareness for social justice projects both locally and globally, always striving to make a tangible difference. Through our work, we lead the Catholic Social Teaching in school, inspiring our peers to live out Pope Francis’ call to be active participants in creating a more just world. We encourage everyone at St. Anne’s to reflect on how we can live with compassion, support those in need, and take practical steps toward building a fairer society for all.

GiFT Team

The GiFT (Gifts in Faith and Trust) Team is dedicated to leading Prayer and Liturgy within our school. We play an essential role in organizing and leading whole-school collective worship and special events marking significant saints’ feast days, like Pray for Pets Day in honour of St. Francis of Assisi and our celebrations of St. Anne and St. Patrick. Our team has worked hard to create sacred spaces around the school, offering areas for spontaneous prayer and quiet reflection. We also plan and host Stay & Pray events throughout the liturgical calendar, ensuring that our school community has the opportunity to grow closer to God in prayer and worship.

Laudato Si’ Team

Inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, our team is dedicated to promoting the care of our common home—God’s creation. We lead initiatives to make our school environment more sustainable and eco-friendly, encouraging everyone to take responsibility for the planet. This year, we are especially proud of our efforts in developing the outside peace gardens and creating a Forest School space, where students can connect with nature and learn about the importance of environmental stewardship. Our mission is to inspire our fellow students to be responsible caretakers of the world around them and to live in harmony with God’s creation.

Peacemakers
As Peacemakers, we are a group of Year 6 students who volunteer every day to support the younger members of our school community. We lead playtime activities, teach games, and provide a listening ear to those who are feeling upset or distressed. Our role also involves helping to resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner, promoting kindness and understanding among all students. Through our work, we help create a safe and caring environment where everyone can thrive, ensuring that every child at St. Anne’s feels valued, supported, and at peace.
